Mehmet Berk YALTIRIK
Historian, writer. He was born on July 19, 1987. He graduated from the History Department of Trakya University Faculty of Arts in 2010. At the same university, in 2014, he completed his master's degree in the field of General Turkish History in the History Department of the Institute of Social Sciences with his thesis on "The Mongol Campaigns in the Deşt-i Kıpçak." He started writing stories on the blog site "Son Gulyabani’nin Yeri" since 2009, and later, his research articles and stories were published in various internet sites, fanzines, and magazines. He achieved the "Story Achievement Award" at the 2013 GİO Story Competition organized by FABİSAD with the story "Kumarcı Bahattin" and received an honorable mention in the "TBD Science Fiction Story Competition 2013" organized by the Turkish Informatics Association with the story "Hekim Maliguri’nin Acayiplikleri."
In 2017, he received the "Achievement Award" at the GİO Novel Awards with the novel "Yedikuleli Mansur," and in 2019, he won the "GİO Best Novel Award" with the novel "Istrancalı Abdülharis Paşa." He worked as a historical consultant for some volumes of Devrim Kunter's "Seyfettin Efendi" comic books. In 2021, he was accepted into the "Regional Cultural Diversity Network" (READ) READ Residency Program (Guest Program for Artists in Five Countries) and spent a month as a guest in the capital of Albania, Tirana.
