Hamdi Alkan ventured into television with the program "3 down 5 up," which debuted on TRT in the 1990s. He created sketches and comedy programs for TRT and several private channels, including the sports sketch program "Öz Offsayt," where he collaborated with Gafur Hüner and Yalçın Menteş. He gained widespread recognition through "Reyting Hamdi," a popular program aired between 1995 and 2003.

Alkan expanded his repertoire by producing "Yumurcak TV," the first children's humor program featuring exclusively child actors. In 2001, he made a guest appearance in the film "The Waterfall" alongside renowned actors such as Hülya Koçyiğit and Tuncel Kurtiz.

In 2004, Alkan spearheaded the project “Stars of Turkey" a talent competition broadcast on Show TV, which launched the careers of actors like Beren Saat and Engin Akyürek.

His directorial ventures include the TV series “Arka Sıradakiler" in 2007 and successful films such as “Bayrampaşa:Ben Fazla Kalmayacağım" and "Our Lesson Atatürk." He also helmed the TV series "That’s My Life," which aired on Fox TV from 2014 to 2017. In 2019, he directed the comedy film "Kırk Yalan."

Alkan currently stars in the series "Red Roses" and recently directed the documentary "Blue Project: I am human too," set to premiere on a digital platform in America in 2025, narrated by Kevin Sorbo.
