He was born on February 14, 1961 in Istanbul. He graduated from Ege University, Faculty of Literature, Department of Sociology. He studied at Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Performing and Visual Arts, Department of Theater, Dramatic Writing Department for two years.

He served as deputy director, director and DT Literary Board Artist Representative at Diyarbakır State Theater. He won several awards in the field of playwriting and direction. He served as the President of the Culture and Art Workers Union between 2000-2002. He served as the deputy director of the Van State Theater.

He entered the world of cinema by writing the screenplay for the TV series “Time Goes By“, which was broadcast between 2010-2013. In 2013, he was the scriptwriter of Turkey's first animated series made for adults Fırıldak Family. In 2015, he shot the feature-length film of his first short theater play called Kuş. He has published several books, articles and reviews.
