He was born on 1966, in Muğla. He graduated from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Cinema and Television in 1993, and also received a master's degree from this faculty. Yüksel Aksu also taught at the Faculty of Communication at Istanbul University.

In 1997, he directed the television series “İnce İnce Yasemince” starring Yasemin Yalçın and İlyas İlbey. Between 1999 and 2001 he co-directed the TV series “ Yılan Hikayesi” starring Mehmet Ali Alabora, Meltem Cumbul, Ayten Gökçer, Çetin Tekindor, Süleyman Turan, Emre Kınay, Nail Kırmızıgül, Hakan Bilgin, Ferhat Yılmaz, Bülent Şakrak, Görkem Yeltan, Bülent Polat.

In 2005, he directed the film “Dondurmam Gaymak” which he wrote the script and produced. While playing Turan Özdemir only as a professional actor in the movie, the cast was made up of citizens from Muğla. He also received many awards with this film.

In 2015, he wrote and directed the script of the movie “İftarlık Gazoz” starring Cem Yılmaz. He directed Turkish TV Series “ Avlu” in 2018 starring Demet Evgar.
